    would you?

Would you buy an sx3 again knowing what you know now? I have been training on Bobcad/cam and have been looking at cnc mills and I wonderd if you would buy this mill again. I can get the sx3 pro for 4895 or add a thou or two for something else but not with the 4th axis. Any help?

    yes

I have owned to seperate cnc mills in my life, both had small flaws or regular maintence, the sx3 has by far been the more capable machine and syil service has been great. Most problems hav been very small and i could usually fix myself.

I fully intend to add more syil machines to my shop as cash allows. i hope to add a c6 in may!

The machines are straight forward and very simple and i have learned a great deal for richard at Syil america.
I don't give a damn if you don't like me, cause i don't like you cause you are not like me.

    Smile Yes

    I got a great 4th axis from Syil_Australia.
After a few tweaks this machine is ACE!
    After sales service excellent.

I am developing a new spindle interface that works as it should.
    Instant ON/OFF REVERSE, speed selection.
and developing for solid tapping -- That's at the end of the job. Just a target.

    Yes!

Yes, I would do it again. This is my first CNC mill and it has proved to be all that I hoped it would be and more. The customer support from Syil and from Richard at SyilAmerica in particular has been the best. I still need a 4th axis for my mill and a C6 would be a great addition to my shop when cash flow permits. There have been minor problems with the SX3 and most of them are well documented here on the CNCZone, but the thing that overshadows these porblems is the commitment Syil has made to the customer and his support.
    Regards,
    Wes

Thanks for the response. I am leaning toward the sx3 pro for the 4th axis. I am\was seriously thinking about a do it yourself on an sx3 but it is not much more to buy one complete. It would be fun to build it myself thou.

    Smile Ready made.

    Mine was ready made.
Just had to add a PC and turn it on.
When you get one ask about the things too look at before power up and save you some extra work.

I have pre-payed 3150 English pounds for a super x3 with 4th axis, with full awareness of the issues (spindle speeds, hot steppers, digital hight meter ect on some machines) but syil uk were up front about all this and in any case cnczone posts have all the fixes posted. This may not answer your question as you are converting to cnc but, yes knowing what I do I would. I read neilw20's post and any one who have had problems, all the fixes are here, I've got to go and do some lapping now.

I'd be a great help of those that have already fixed or found solutions to the classic problems could produce a 'You need to fix this before running it' help guide. Not that I'm lazy about searching through the forum to see what will need to be done, just don't want to miss anything.

Mike jeffers asked how long do I have to wait?.. well the waitings over, It's here at syil uk and I've just got to pick it up. My delivery was delayed so I have waited a bit longer than I exspected. If you are interested contact hugh through the syil.co.uk Email link.. and I'm sure an exact date could be provided as a consignment arrived this week.
