I've got a difficult move in coming the Monday. I've got to move a 450lb C6 up a narrow flight of stairs. Has anyone disassembled one into sub assemblies to lighten this lathe? I've been looking for an online exploded view diagram without any luck. |

| Hi People, There is not 400 pounds in a C6 Maybe 280 plus change. I tool the tailstoock off mine, then, after removing the R/H end bearing for the leadscrew off, I was able to remove the saddle and all it's fruit. Obviously the milling head was already on the floor. I then moved it to where it had to go standing on it's tailstock end with a stack truck. To get it up onto the bench, I laid a plank there, smeared some grease on the plank and slid it up the plank. On level ground three can move a C6 with all the fruit. So your guesstimate of 4 to go up a flight of stairs should bolt it in.. Russell in Perth, Western Australia |
