Hi,
Does anyone have comments on the differences between the X3 and Super X3 in terms of added features, working envelope, efficiency, build quality, price and value?
Thanks much,
Gerry

Working envelope is the same on each.
The SuperX3 is by far a better machine with the addition of a brushless DC spindle motor, belt drive (as opposed to gear) digital touchpad with manual tapping function.

OK, Thanks kindly for the info. - Gerry
There are many who know the X3 is a better machine. Much more reliable electronics, no flaky tapping function and a much lower price. The tilting head is possibly useful at first sight but a tilting vice is much easier to setup and you don't loose head to table alignment. Mechanical build quality is the same on both but I'd not touch a Super X3 with a bargepole.
When the super X3 first came out Sieg had some problems with the controller, but that has been fixed by now. The brushless DC motor on the Super X3 is amazingly powerfull even at extreamly low speeds. The unit runs so smooth and quite it is pleasure to work with. At slow speeds it runs more quiet than a typical cordless drill.
