Anyone seen the new Syil machines?

Was looking at the Syil website syil.com.cn and there are details and pictures of some new machines. Has anyone got one of these yet?

I just saw the new products on there site too...

Nice looking machines... It says the X5 has a polymer concrete / steel table...

And 400 mm of x travel.... I wonder if its possible to upgrade my recently purchased SX3... I'm jealous ~~

Actually also says that about the X2, X3, SX3, X4, and X4+. I wonder if that is a typo, since I have never heard that reported of previous X3 models.

I was hoping that Syil would import the Sieg KX3 (maybe at a lower price then the present conversion), but it looks like Syil is doing another conversion, possibly based upon the KX3? The base looks like the KX3 (without the diagonal panel where the Z axis handwheel used to be), but the Y-axis stepper is mounted in front instead of the rear (where the KX3 has it). Looks like the spindle head is similar to the KX3 (with no movable quill), but it must be an aftermarket part since it does look significantly different than both the SX3 and KX3. The X4+ has front panel controls to manually operate the mill, but I would be very interested in seeing that on a pendant instead of/in addition to that feature (hint! hint!). The new models also have one-shot lubrication, which is a welcome addition.

It would be interesting to know what parts are Syil aftermarket additions, and which parts come from Sieg.

Looks like a bold move from Syil to add some products to the upper end of their line. It would be nice to hear what makes the X4 and X4+ significantly better then the Syil SX3 (and the Sieg KX3 aka Smithy 622) for the extra $500 and $1000. Probably looking at a more mature product overall.

No conversion in the X4, X4 Plus, or X7. They are in production and won't be ready until first of the year.

Yes, you can upgrade the X3 and SX3 to new X4 or X4 plus. Details are still being put together on this type of upgrade. Should be very reasonable.

KX3 is OK, but we thought we could improve and refine.

X7 is a full production machine. 3000+ lbs of square column serious metal eating.

Changes on the X4 are oiling system, chip tray, and mod bus.

Changes on the X4 plus are the above mentioned with addtion to MPG in head and digital readout of all axis position on head.

X7 is a new beast. 3hp, power drawbar, optional tool changer, auto oiling and coolant, serious rigidity.

Thankyou Richard for your help.

Does this mean that Syil has gone into straight manufacturing, or is Sieg (or someone else) manufacturing these machines to Syil's specifications?

Do you know if Syil (previously?) bought the assembled X3/SX3 and stripped it down for conversion, or did they work a deal where they only got the parts they wanted?

Have you personally seen any of these new machines yet? How do you think the fit and finish is compared to the Sieg SX3?

MPG (Manual Pulse Generator) ? So the front panel controls on the X4+ allow local stepper control and axis readouts? Does this mean linear encoders come pre-installed or is it based upon encoders in the stepper motor?

Looks like the race for best benchtop cnc machines is heating up...

hopefully, they will offer the long table option that Optimum offers in Europe. They've had this machine for quite a while so I'd think that bugs should be worked out.

I placed my order this morning for the X4 Plus. No clue has to when it might be here in Van. I can say that Syil Canada has been very cool with my one million questions i have been asking. Being a noob Keith has been very helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Syil should be very happy with how people are being treated by the guys in both the States and in Canada

1:X4,X4 PLUS was start design at 2006 end.before the Sieg KX3.also it is Syil accord a benchtop cnc to design not like convert manual machine before.and manufacturing X4 independently.

2:Syil america team in 2007 april was visited Syil factory, during that time X4 sample still not completed.but right now the demo have been past our inspection and in quantity production,i think frist shipment to USA,and canada will be at feb of 2008.

3:We plan to present those model at this month, then i think north america dealer retails price of X4/X4+ will coming out soonly too.also they will post video or pic in the web later.

4:we also will post pictures of turnkey X4 later in new thread.people can compare right now SX3,KX3 to X4,
i believe X4/X4+ machining,casting ,painting,funcational quality was better than current sieg x3,kx3.

5: we still big parnter in china of sieg and have full products line of SIEG cnc .in future we still keep supply standard X3,super X3,C6/C6B lathe,U2.and X2 cnc for the customers.

please take patience for wait some weeks.....

PennTool in the USA Carries the BF16/BF20 under the TOPTECH name
http://www.penntoolco.com/catalog/pr...ategoryID=6692 A few other small importers tried selling the BF16 mills on ebay last year but they never sold that well.
