I was amongst the 1st batch of Syil SX3 that went out directly from China back in 2006. The purchase operation went really well. Bank wire/ocean freight/truck transport went smoothly and two months later I received my new machine. When I received it, to my surprise there was practically ZERO documentation and support. I clean and fire up the spindle with a big fat on my face. Well at least for 5 minutes. After couple power cycle and speed change I heard a loud "pop" in the display panel. Then the spindle would not move but would only display "80" regardless of what speed selected. After talking to Syil directly and got connected with Richard of SyilAmerica. They send me a new main power board (the one with heatsink). Unfortunately that didn't work. I then send back my motor, ctrl panel and main board for replacement. A quick diagnostic by Rod, found that the ctrl panel the the culprit that fried the main board.Couple more months of wait got me a new ctrl panel, motor and main board. The machine now run :woohoo: Several quick exercise of Mach3Mill, got me into a second problem. The Y-Axis home switch was mounted a tad bit too high that cause the flag to scrap the switch and break it. Another month of wait got me the new switch and everything working. . . . So what does this have to do with SyilAmerica. Well, they never sold me the mill (it was Syil China), but provided the SUPERB consultation and support to get things resolved. The product have significantly improved from when I bought it (mostly due to SyilAmerica QA / QC and forum feedback). If you ask me would I do this again the second time around. The answer is "without a thought, I WILL purchase another Syil SX3 CNC, but only thru a US representative like SyilAmerica". Thank you Richard, Rod, and many others for making everything go smoothly. There is still no excuse for that level of problems. All that was required to prevent one from having a 1/4 of a year wait was to run the machine before it left. Good thing no one was in a hurry to get a return on one's investment. Richard |
