San Diego, CA Hobby Machinist Group

    Hi All,

For those in the San Diego California area who are proud owners of a new Syilamerica product, we have created a hobby machinist group using Meetup.com.

    Here is the URL:
    http://machinist.meetup.com/4/

This is a brand new group, so let's build it together!

    Regards,

    Dan

    Hi Dan,
I am in Modesto,Ca but it looks like your group is the only one around here. Do you physically meet together or can another X3 owner in California still connect with you all to interact and share some information or ideas perhaps by email? Glad to see someone is tryin to network with others on the same track.
    Best regards,
    Wes

    Guys,
I'm glad to hear that there's a San Diego group interested in the same things we are. Take a look at our web site, Southern California Home Shop Machinists, SCHSM.ORG. Our club is about 6 years old, we meet once a month, and normally get about 30 + to a meeting. Too bad the price of gas is so high. Otherwise, we'd be glad to have you attend a meeting. The same thing goes for the guy in Modesto.

    Keep making chips,
    Marv Frankel, President

    Hello Marv,
I took a look at your clubs site, and it looks very good! It appears that your club is very active and the members have completed a lot of very impressive projects. Unfortunately you are correct and the cost of gas along with the distance between us will prevent me from visiting a meeting. I'm glad you have the website which will have to due for me, and thanks for the invite.
    Best regards,
    Regards,
    Wes

The link to this hobby machinist group has died.

I'm looking for more metal/machine-shop/design groups in Southern California. If anyone knows of any I'll look them over and post them on my site. I'm also looking for some good (priced) So.Cal hobby-sized sources of materials (plastics & scrap metal) and anodizing.

Currently, I go to the Venice machine shop in Los Angeles' Westside near Santa Monica. Offically it is a "class", but is really more of a club.

Help with Mach3 in Santee, Calif.

I purchased an Ebay 3040 cnc router and had the controller rebuilt with Gecko drives. I have Mach3 and Vcarve Pro programs. I need alittle help with the Mach3 program, really it is the basic stuff. I build guitar pickups in my garage in Santee, Calif.
    Cheers
