| G-Code Spindle Operation There is a "undocumented" feature in our G-Coded spindle control. Here is the proper way to operate the spindle with your Mach controller. If you have noticed that in “CNC” mode that your spindle does nothing when you turn the spindle on……. In are in a safe “lock” mode. If you press the buttons on the face…. STILL NOTHING HAPPENS!!! (frustration) This feature is intended for your safety. So that you don’t accidentally trigger the spindle while you are working around it. You will, however, notice that once you press the “start” button the spindle won’t start, but the “stop” on the LCD display will disappear. You are now in “lock off” mode and ready for G-Code command. Now if you enter, say 500 rpm, in the spindle control and press spindle on…. Magic. To lock the spindle down, you simply press the stop button. This will make the “stop” on the LCD re-appear.

| Hello, My spindle will start, stop, and change direction thru MDI commands and will change speeds but does not achieve accurate speed changes. I have done the spindle calibration successfully in Mach3 several times but the speed seems to run too high with a speed increase(from 500RPM CW to 1500 display with a speed command of S750 in MDI)and will sometimes slowly decrease towards the right speed. It was working much better about a week ago and seemed fairly accurate and the change is strange as I had not use the machine since that time. I had tried to use the mill yesterday but could not machine anything as the spindle would not work at all thru the controller. This seems like an intermittant problem but is similar to what Greolt had described in his post of spindle control problems. If there is something I can do to improve this situation or tweak the spindle please let me know. Thanks in advance for any information that will help. Regards, Wes |

| Is a brushless DC motor on the spindle, and is not indexed through the controller. So any calibration in the Mach controller and will not be valid. Spindle speed calibration is based on numbers included into your pulley speed configuration. Our profile, or tech-support documents(the black magic of G. code spindle), outline the procedure.
