| X2 Backlash and Accuracy I wanted to simulate what a typical customers experience would be when first starting to use the X2. Here’s what I did: Opened the crate Setup the unit on the bench Pluged in the computer to the parrallel port Measured the backlash (just for fun, didn’t input them in the Mach controller yet) Backlash for single ball nut X2 (.0017” X, .0021” Y, .0025” Z) Mounted a vise Placed some stock in it Milled a 1.5” circle with ˝” 2 flute HSS EM @ .050” plunge 5.5 ipm Results: Finish was clean and the hole was concentric .002”. Not too bad for straight out of the box. With some backlash enabling, and a head tram check this machine would produce some highly accurate work.
