| X3 Capaibilities Hello all, my name is Tom. Im new to the CNC world and my ideas were shattered a few years ago after I bought a 13k cnc machine from someone and wound up getting damaged and all. So no one took the blame (the shipping company / maker) so I wound up suein both. Well I just bounced back from that. My main question is can the X3 handle say mild steel. For example, can i mill exahust flanges for custom headers on this machine. Obviously nuttin more than some holes etc. Also can it handle say 1" thick aluminum plate ? ? Complicated designs such as half of a 3d diamond design etc. Thanks guys. BTW im still using bobcad/cam v19 - is everything supported ? |

| Yes it can handle steel. on my X3 I can take some heavy duty cuts with a 1" end mill in steel and aluminum. Very rarely do I get chatters, and my cuts are usually about .1-.2" deep. Mild steel will not be an issue, I cut stainless with my X3 and a 4 flute carbide without any chatter whatsoever. I think the X3 is more suited for steel as the max RPM is pretty low. |
