Anyone running these machines in Vancouver,BC State Washington area?

Currently I own a Maxnc. It's running OK but I spend more time tuning it than cutting aluminum. It's a small maching and not rigid enough. I spent $3000 on sw and I need a more robust machine which I can actually work with.
It would be great to see the Syil in action. My main concern is the spindle speed which might be too slow for aluminum.

The spindle upgraded speed of 3600 is terrific for aluminum. I'm not sure what your Maxnc weighs in at, but 400+ lbs sure adds alot of cutting power to your work.

I'm not comparing your mill to the MaxNC. It's a different league. Max is a great learning tool but cannot be used for serious work. It needs constant tuning and adjusting gibs to perform. One advantage of the max is that the spindle can go as high as 9000RPM (only .2 horsepower). I mostly cut small alu parts as a hobby for now. The accuracy is around +-.001" on a 2" part.
If I'm lucky it's better.

The concern I'm having with the Syil is that I cannot achive high IPM with smaller cutters because the RPM is too low. ( for me high IPM is around 30IPM range )


for example:
using a 2 flute .125 carbide cutter with chipload per tooth .001 at 3200RPM ( it's not a good Idea to run a mill constantly at the highest RPM)
I only get around 7 IPM on the good side I'd be able to cut much deeper

Your google rating is going higher and higher. I think you have a good mill and I'm considering it in the future. no rush for now
Do you ship to Canada as well? Would you know how much duty would I have to pay ? If the mill was made in the US there would be no duty because of NAFTA. But if it's assembled in the US that could reduce the duty -I think. The tax is 13%.

I get 7 IPM as well in my calculations.

I think the question is correct, what would be the depth differance. How far can you plunge with your MaxNC?
