Pull stud size

Hello everyone,

Can someone tell me what size pull stud is used for the BT30 air draw bar on the Syil X7.

Thanks in advance
Greg (new owner of pre-loved X7)

Hi,
Do you think enough room so u can use pull stud inside your spindle? My BT 30 has not enough space to put pull stud in, I should modify it in conjunction using pull stud. Check your spindle first.

asuratman,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, this spindle does have power drawbar on BT30 tooling. Syil have it as an option, comes with air over oil actuator on top of the spindle.
Your machine sounds like the NT30 (not BT30) with threaded drawbar.

Dumb question
If your going to add a pull stud, what gripper are you going to use and where are you going to get it. As I understand things now, you have a threaded drawbar?

ramax

I have seen 2 pull studs for BT30 spindle. Both were different dimensions. I guess I will have to buy both and see which one works.

bubba,
The machine has a power draw bar. Not a threaded draw bar.

ramax,

I have no tooling or pull stud to measure. Its a used machine with no manual or tools.
The "Maritool" web site in North America lists 6 different variations for BT30 tooling.
Gauge lengths vary form 0.7225", 0.707" or 0.7065"
Head dia vary from 0.4705 dia, .431 dia or .549 dia
Angles vary from 15deg, 45deg or 60deg.
It all depends on the claw in the spindle and the Syil web site has no information.

It is looking like the answer is difficult to get.

E-mail Syil Canada or North America (so you have a chance of getting someone who speaks English and ask them which stud you need.
