Look for a loose wire in the X stepper connection. Probably where the cable connects to the driver (not the motor). I had that problem in the Y axis a month ago. While you are at it, re-tighten all screw-in connections. Good luck!
Hi.
I have just got an X5 standard and I am facing a problem with the "X" axis. I am completely new to CNC and that is the first time I am trying to set a machine up, so please forgive me if it is a stupid question. I am using Mach3 R2.63 as recommended in the manual and the X axis only goes in one direction (left), I am using the X5.xml file provide by Syil in China. I have also tried to make some changes in the Mach config, but nothing seems to work.
Regards and thanks for any help.

And... give all crimp connectors a tug. The wire should not come out of the lug, but you may find a few.
When you change direction, the light on driver should show a change.
Compare to a good axis. Swap plugs (ribbon cable) into the driver from the BOB. Not the power, or the ones that go to the stepper, with a another axis.
This will identify whether the driver is at fault, or the wiring/bob/mach3 configuration.

Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
Hi Neil, good to "see" you![]()
Thanks all for the help!!!
We checked all cables connections and now it works!!! It was probably a faulty connector.
Thanks again for the help.
