The more you pay the more features/size you get.
Go by budget, and capacity needs.
4th axis too?
I think any display features, apart from speed are useless because it is all on the Mach3 screen.
Navigation keys not on a pendant are next to useless.
I plan to order one within the week, but I'm having a difficult time deciding which of these mills I want.
My use will be primarily as a hobbyist/engineer/tinkerer, and projects could range from gunsmithing to quadcopters to robots to pcbs to to farm machinery to ???. Any suggestions on deciphering which of these four would be the best for me?
1) X4 Standard
2) X4 Plus
3) X4 Speedmaster
4) X5 Standard
5) X5 Plus
6) X5 Speedmaster
Thanks in advance![]()

Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
Thanks for the information.
My biggest question is really whether to go with the Speedmaster (8000-24000RPM spindle) or the standard/plus (200-5000 RPM spindle). I know there are advantages to the high-speed spindle, but if I get the Speedmaster will I be limiting myself in the types of uses I can get from the mill?
Also, what sort of tools are commonly used with the Speedmaster? Am I limited to very small end mills and ball mills, and if so would that limit the utility of the machine?
Also, for syil:
Is the drawbar you mention the power drawbar? If so, why would you recommend that?
Thanks again!
speedmaster model mostly working for engraving.
of course can not use power draw bar.
i recommend the draw bar during it is a really good kits.
you better look the video.

Don't under estimate the power of the Speedmaster
A week ago a potential customer asked us about the speedmaster, he wanted to machine small parts mostly titanium and brass, these test passed with flying colors, but then his boss asked for an extra demo, he wanted to know if the machine was able to cut a simple shape on a 3/16" sheet of 316L Stainless Steel. Slowly and with flood coolant during the whole machining the piece was cut and the finish was amazing.
Nice machine it can engrave and if you configure it properly you can do a lot of milling too!
