    Hi Greg,

Inspired by your solution I just did the same... found a computer fan connector and sanded it down...

    Oh well

    Success!

The electric is connected and it shows in the digitize signal in Mach3!!!

Not sure if you remember, Greg, how alien and challenging simple things like this were for you when you first got started, well they certainly have been for me.

    Thank you!

    [Edit]

One thing that was not that obvious to me is that you already have ground on the entire machine, so really you only have to bring out the signal pin (the one in the middle) and have it hooked up to your zeroing widget. The tool will be the ground because it is already linked to the machine.

The other thing is that the table of the mill and many of your workpieces will be metal, so your zeroing widget can not conduct electricity in the spots where it will touch the workpiece. Otherwise the machine will think it is already zeroed before it starts.

    Hi guys
I have also tried but with not as much success. If anyone can help that would be great.
I am getting an error message that says, Z- Plate is grounded or check the connection and try again. When I put my touch plate to ground the LED light goes out on the screen and the Z probe begins to work. It seems to me it is working in reverse. Could some one please tell me what I have done wrong.
    Thanks Greg

Sounds like you need to reverse the active setting in "ports and pins"

Set the probe input to "active low"

    Hi Greg
Thanks for your quick reply. I have changed the setting in ports and pins and it is working great. Thanks for all the info I could not have done this myself.

    Thanks greg

Does anyone have experience with this board. I can't get to an available input for a Z plate as well!
