Hello All, I just got a new job, and I need to threadmill a 1/8-27npt in surfcam 2004 and on a Haas VF-4. I'm a Mastercam user and I'm unsure about the settings in surfcam as pertaining to tapered threads when it talks about some of the diameters and such , any help would be appreciated as I am under the gun (aren't we all) . I have a hard time finding the cut comp and so forth . The tool I am using is a micro 100 thread mill it says .220 on it. It also has like 12 grooves (threads) thanx Joe |

| The tap must be 1/8-27 npt. You dont need surfcam to program it. If you are machining aluminum: go down , go right make a regular g3 with z up. go back to the center, go up. G17 G40 G80 G90 T1 M6 S600 M3 G0 G90 X0 Y0 G43 Z0.1 H4 M8 G1 Z-0.2 F5. (I know it can be G0 here but I am not saying it ) X0.035 f2. G3 Z-0.163 I-0.035 J0 G1 X0 G0 Z0.1 If you want to do it in surfcam . nc 2axis thread mill select tool. now make sure to write pitch 1/27 play with the rest of the parameters they are easy to understand. Good lock. |
