Saw cutting operation

Hey Now all!
I was wondering if somebody can give me some help/suggestions performing a saw cut operation using surfcam. Basically I want to cut a .062 slot right down the middle of my work piece, starting at the end of my work piece(X0) feeding in the -X. direction. Then wondering if I should feed out in the X or feed out in Y when I get to the end of the cut.

Maquillacutty,

It may help to have some more information, like what machine your using to get this “saw cut”. Is it a wire EDM, or a mill?

Im using a Mill. The part is basically a clamp of some type. I have a .063 wide slot that needs to go down the middle to an intersecting hole on the top. Everything is done on the part and it just needs the .063 wide slot. I could do it on the bridgeport. I have never done a slit saw operation in surfcam or any cad/cam for the matter.
I want to start on the end of my work piece go down to the middle of my part and feed 1.25 in the X- direction. Then wondering on if I should feed out in X or feed out in Y when I get to the end of the saw cut.. Hope this helps.. I could post the script file if you could tell me how lol. thanks a lot.

Well after staying up all nite tweaking it and a couple of hours of futzing around with it in the morning I got it to do what I needed, although I had help from our surfcam support maintenance. Guess there's not a whole lot of Surfcam users around here. Threads had plenty of views no one even chimed in but one other fella. Anywho thanks.
I hope if I run into any other questions more help will be avail.
