Surfcam V5 setup sheets

Are setup sheets a special add-on for surfcam? When I use the "create setup sheet" icon in the operations manager all it does is give me a dialog box with a red bubble and x. Is this a problem or just an add-on that wasn't purchased? Thanks.

Go to Tools>Options>Files>Set-up Sheets and select the type you want to use. I believe you need to have Internet Explorer installed for the Current and HTML versions or select classic.

Thanks for the advice. I had tried that previously and all three had the same result. I'm unsure if there's more setup required or if it's an option our seat doesn't have enabled. I'm used to featurecam and it's a fair bit different than surfcam. Thanks again.

This isn’t an option. It should work right out of the box. Try a reinstall.

Thanks. That's not a possibility. I don't have admin rights on the PC so I can't do any changes like that. I've sent a help ticket to our IT dept but they're more than slow and this is something I need to figure out for the weekend work. Thanks again. Anyone else have any idea?

I have an operations.cfg file in my v5\def folder.

Copy the one from the def folder and paste it into the v5 folder.

Hmm ok......rename your (surfcam.ini) file in the v5 folder to (--surfcam.ini) then copy setupgen.cfg, setupgentxt.cfg, tooling.cfg, and surfcam.ini from your def folder and paste them in the v5 folder.

If none of that works delete the surfcam.ini file from the v5 folder and rename (--surfcam.ini) back to (surfcam.ini) to return all your defaults back to what you had them at.

I tried that too to no avail. I don't know what the issue is,but i'm liking surfcam less and lees i think.

I haven't had any issues like that with 6 or 2014. The default setup sheets have way more info than is needed. Camcadtech has some nice setup sheets you can d/l but they still need some customization.

Was this resolved? Not sure if this was your problem but may help. I’m was suddenly having the same problem in V6 after going from two monitors to one when the second monitor I was using for Surfcam died. The setup sheet was still opening where the second monitor was, not in view. I had to close all windows shown in the taskbar except the setup sheet, then right click and select “show desktop”, then right click again and select “show open windows”. That did the trick. I've always had problems getting Surfcam's windows to stay on the monitor where the program is. Hope this makes sense.
