    step reduction machining

    can step reduction machining make the tool step up when it has finished taking big steps going down like mastercam optirough can? i watched this video and it does not seem that step reduction machining can.

    Step Reduction Milling (SRM)

    i am not trying to knock surfcam. i ask because our shop may get surfcam just for truemill toolpaths.

    Joseph, if you're looking at buying SURFCAM for Truemill, you won't need SRM. 3 Axis Truemill takes the steps out from the bottom up.

    so is srm obsoleted by 3 axis truemill because srm will not step up like 3 axis truemill will?

    Sort of. SRM is standard in 3 Axis Advanced. Truemill is a purchased add-on.
