Need Help!- need Surfcam post for Puma 6 Daewoo lathe

Hi all. I have purchased and older (1987) Daewoo Puma cnc lathe with a 6T control (Fanuc?) to add to my shop. I have 2 newer Haas cnc mills but haven't run a cnc lathe in a long while.

I use Surfcam for offline programming for the mills and am looking for a post or some sample code for the Puma lathe that will at least get me close to making useful code here on my lathe. I have a manual (poor documentation) but I cannot find any samples of nc code to work from or to modify a surfcam post.

Secondly, I currently send programs to the Haas mills with RS232 cable setup and would like to do the same for the lathe. If anyone can help me with that, I would appreciate it very much.

This site has always had very helpful information and I learn somthing new everytime. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the Fanuc 6T post supplied from Surfcam? I’m not familiar with Puma, but generally most CNC lathes are just as easy to program at the machine than with CAM software.

What version of Surfcam? Surfcam has supplied a DNC program for years that works pretty good. You may have to install it from the Surfcam CD.
