And my records indicate that large nag banners are quite annoying.Hello Hirsch,
Our records indicate that you have never posted to our site before! Why not make your first post today by saying hello to our community in our Introductions forum.
Why not start with your first post today and become an active part of CNCzone.com-The Ultimate Machinist Community now!
I'm here to discuss CNC when I'm ready to, not chit chat about something pointless just for the sake of making a rather large annoying reminder screen go away. lol
Yep, that took care of it. Now i can go back to lurking and learning without having to follow up on an introduction thread.
I'm happy now, it looks like a great forum btw!
At least it will not come back.
Lurking is a time honored tradition. I did it for quite awhile before I had something to say.
This site is a real wealth of information, even if I bring the value down when I show up.
Warning: DIY CNC may cause extreme hair loss due to you pulling your hair out.
Hi I am introducing myself after seeing the banner ad,not because it annoys me,but because I,m not really very skilled at posting [I,m 74 y.o.] And when most of the people on this post were playing Computer games or something like that,at the equivilent age I was out in the bush after school trapping rabbits to suppliment our families food.So now I avoid doing things like this as I may make donkey of myself. However I do lurk as you call it,I guess the more people log on the better advertising dollar comes in,& thats OK because every one gets free info-sometimes good -other time not but thats up to the individual.
I am building a CNC Router in my back shed have some pics but haven't a clue how to post them.I'm in Australia by the way so don't have access to all the stuff that you have in the US.I know it can be imported here but that seems a bit risky to me. I have found a place about 40 km away that has good stocks however so its not too bad.
Well how's that for oldie/newbie that last one seems a bit derogatory to me, I may post again but I'm not doing anything groundbreaking, I have built a Lotus 7 style car its Registered & on the road, getting thru the Traffic Depts tests & rules is a story on its own.Now also part way thru' building racing Clubmans car race only. So there my intro folks. Broomy

Maximum respect! They are very fast in a straight line, but please brake in good time before the corners.
I said Lotus 7 style I think, theres no Lotus bits in in except a 4 " widened flopped nose cone.To set your mind at rest its got 4 wheel disc brakes TF Cortina ventilated at the front the rear is all Nissan GTIR susp & brakes, part of the Engineers certification is testing with a "G" meter, I think its 1 G & something like 20 consecutive crash stops with no fade in something like 10 or 15 minutes-can't remember now .I'm sorry if I've broken the rules by prattling on about cars on a CNC site, but I thought the details may interest someone .No British manufactured Lotus 7 real or copy would pass the chassis torsion test to road register a car in Queensland,AFAIK, there- I learnt something in my lurking
All the best to all, hope I haven't offended anyone Broomy
Geeeze, looks like I'm guilty too! Been looking around for a while but forgot to say 'hello'.
This site has so much information I spend too much time looking.
Best regards to all from Australia.
Having never posted I couldn't find a "Post new message" button...hoping this is a way to get 'onto' the forums...
