I have a couple of questions about the ads. I realize that the ads help support your site in one way or another. You may think I am pretty arrogant for asking this.

Since I feel they are pretty intrusive. Would it be possible to add a feature for supporters of the site to disable the ads? I am not a supporter of the site currently but would be if I could have this feature.

Another option is to move the ads to a different server than the one that supplies the forum. That way I can block images from that ad server using the mozilla/firefox browser. If you look at yahoo and ebay, their ad images can easily be blocked without losing the images that compose the rest of their sites.

I would be interested in hearing opinions.

I'm not prepared to move them to another server which would incur more cost (being that it's 100% free to use the site). The ads are IMO not intrusive at all, they don't pop-up and they don't stop you from getting to the information.

At some point I will look into a premium membership in which a member can pay a low yearly fee with no ads what so ever. I will look into that.

Unlike other advertising methods like including a ad in the email, this form of advertising I use is a good compromise.

thanks for the response. Your site has been nothing but valuable information. I guess the benefit outweighs the annoyance. I just wonder about the effectiveness of web ads.

The ads are VERY effective otherwise my advertisers would not be advertising here.
