Can i suggest that we have a place to discuss Hermle machine tools.
Great web site,Well done all involved.
Thanks.Steve.
Definitely a good idea. My cohort in crime just bought a used Hermle 900 UWF with a Heidenhain 407 CNC. He's quite impressed with the accuracy of this machine.
Also, this machine is equipped with the tilting, swivel and rotary universal table.
The vertical head also swivels and has a quill for hand drilling etc. Swing the vertical head around the corner and the machine has a separate horizontal spindle. Both spindles are 40 CAT driven by 8 hp.
Far superior to Bridgeports and their clones.
Personally, I have a history with the Hermle machines going back to the 1980's. Even visited their factory at Gosheim, Germany when I was at Siemens.
