My last Stirling engine (Alpha type)

Hello everybody,

I am a new here. I just registered.

This is my last production. A Stirling engine : [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB-OwTMzXhc&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - Stirling type Alpha[/nomedia]

It has made his firsts revolutions for the first time two days ago. At this stade it runs at 1040 RPM max. It is a homemade design. But it is not finished. I designed it as a four cylinders engine. So if it has only two cylinders for the moment, it will have 4 cylinders soon and maybe 6, why not.

As a next step, I want to try to pressurize it, to increase the power.

Sorry the plans for this engine are not available. But I think it can interest you, two years ago, i have drawn a new vacuum engine and i put the plans on the net, (they are in french).

im currently designing an almost identical setup for my firsty.

strokes different, hot cylinder also etc... but yeah.

Super cool.
I believe though, that this engine coupled to a axial flux alternator and concentrated sun rays, can be more powerful then photovoltaic cells.
The way I would approach doing this would be to have the outside of the cylinder square and the sun rays concentrated on more than one side.
All mounted on a platform so it tracks the sun.
Also a small starter of some sort just to get it going.

I have too many projects, and not enough time.
