| You CAN set microstepping to as high as your driver provides. Even setting 100.000 microsteps (not that I know any driver for this) is possible. What is the question of how accurate the microstepping is. There are unavoidable unaccuacies of the stepper. Also the displacement of the stepper field from the real mechanical position depends on the load and friction in the system. So the question might be rather how many microsteps may be usefull in a given system. |
