Opinions on this stepper damper?

I ran across this stepper motor on ebay some time back. The damper looked interesting, so I saved the photo. It looks like little more than a bearing with a plastic dust shield.

Any thoughts on how well this might work? Looks like an easy build for those without machine shop access.

I'm thinking a press fit plastic bushing inside a sealed bearing pressed on the stepper shaft would equal this.

Your thoughts?
