| Stepper Motors Ive been looking for a good set of stepper motors for my Sherline mill. I've looked at many sites that offer motors from the 80 oz/in up to 250 oz/in. Some of these motors are listed running on DC current which seemed odd to me. Knowing that my mill runs on AC, would there be an instance where you would run DC motors on your AC powered machine? Would these DC motors be used for other applications or would you use a DC motor on your mill or lathe and convert the current differences by way of a modified power supply? Odd question I know. |

| All steppers are DC. You need a powersupply and driver board to run them. I am moving this thread to the stepper motors forum. Eric
