I'm looking for recommendations for stepper motors to use on a mill project. The mill is an older Bridgeport style knee mill with a 9"x36" table. It is going to see near daily use in my shop, but since it is an older mill, I don't want to dump a lot of money into it. I'm planning to use Gecko G201 or G210 drivers. I'll probably retain the acme lead screws, but if my budget allows, I may swap in lower grade ball screws. Does anyone have recommendations for stepper motors for this type of machine? I beleive most other knee mill conversions I've seen were using 800 - 1000 oz/in steppers. What would be best for use with the Gecko drivers? Who should I buy them from? Thanks in advance for your help! |
