Question Unknown Stepper Motor voltage ?

I have two Minebea Stepper Motors that came out of some barcode printers. They look like nice motors, but I am unsure of what voltage they operate at. I found datasheets on the company website, but it does not list any voltage rating.

The motors part numbers are: 17PM-K404-T1V (ST9894 - not sure what this number is, might be a date code.).

The other motor is: 23KM-K355-33 (T9921-01).

Does anyone have any information on these motors as well as maybe a test circuit to test them. Oh, they seem to be Bipolar motors though one has six wires, but is wired as a bipolar motor with the extra two wires clipped off.

    Z.K.

Hi ZK. Welcome to the Zone!

Formula for best/max psu voltage is 32 times the square root of the inductance. That 6 wire motor is a unipolar wired as half winding--Nearly as good as Bipolar Parallel.
