    Stepper motor creep

Great site, found heaps of great info, but I have a problem that I have not yet found an answer to...
I have a machine using 85BYGH stepper motors and the x axis motor, when warmed up, starts to creep... ie it turns itself, 1 increment at a time, kinda frustrating when doing precision stuff...
Is this a breakdown in the stepper motor or the driver? Has anyone else had this kind of problem before?
    Any advice mucho appreciated

Sounds like a noise problem, with noise being picked up on the clock line?
Disconnect the clock line and leave it over night to see if it still creeps?

Thanks, that sounds like something I could try... it only does this once warm, not when first turned on... I am fairly new with this stuff, how can I identify which is the clock line? I have four wires going in, with a spare stepper motor that has 8 (helpful!) Any ideas?
    Cheers

The clock line is on the driver, it is where the clock pulse goes, it is also refered to as the step as in clock and direction or step and direction.
