Newbie- Motor specs

Hi.

First let me say thank you for having a wonderful website full of information.


I'm in the process of getting everything together to build my first CNC router, and I have a question about motors. I'm a pretty handy guy, but I've never really messed with electric motors much.

I'm scrounging parts [I'm poor] and a friend brought me 4 motors with the following specs:

• 6.2VDC/1A/6.2Ohms/10mH
• 4 Phase Uni-Polar 6 lead
• 1.8 deg
• 9000g.cm holding torque.

Ideally I'd like to build a mill that could take half a piece of standard size MDF [4'x4']

Are these motors adequate for a project of that size? If not, what would they be good for?
