Hello all I am building my third router table 5x9. I am going to use bishop wisecarver dual vee low pro linear bearings on the x and y (got a good deal on ebay) My gantry finished will weigh 145lbs. for the drive on x and y i have bosch t-5 belts and pullies, the pullies are 24 tooth so if i use a direct drive the x and y will move 120mm or 4.74" per rev. The x will be dual drive with 500oz steppers and y will be single drive with 500oz steppers. My queston is are the 2 500oz steppers going to be able to move my x at a reasonable speed? Any idea on what the preformance of x and y might be? I know this also has to do with the power supply and stepper drives but lets assume that the steppers are working at peak preformance. Thanks for your help jeff |

| They'll probably go very fast, but you may need a low accel. Your resolution won't be very good, either. You might want to gear it down a bit to get more resolution and quicker acceleration.
