http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=8368 I was wondering if anyone has used this driver. I was wondering if it would be able to handle larger steppers or if I should find something else. I don't have my motors yet but I am building a 4'x2' router and wanted to get three of these to drive the steppers. I just wanted to know if this board should work with steppers that I am hoping to find in a copier machine. Also would I just be better off buying the hobbycnc board? I can solder but would really prefer not to if these boards would be fine. And if these boards would work could anyone explain how you set up to connect them to a computer. The electronic portion of the cnc machine really confuses me, sorry. |

| I think you need to decide how much motor you need first. Maybe pminmo's page an mechanical power can help: http://pminmo.com/PMinMOwiki/index.p...chanical_Power Once you find a motor that suits your needs, then find a driver that can supply enough amps for the motor. |

| Ok thanks for the help. I will wait until I find some motors and then try to figure everything out. I am still trying to decide if I want to take the plunge into trying to make my own board or just buy one. With boards so cheap I don't think it would be worth building it. Do you know when marriss' drives are to be released? |

| pconn5, We are on track to be releasing them next week, hopefully by Monday. We will post any developments to the "Cheap Drives?" thread on our forum, but we are in the final stages of development. If you have any CNC questions regarding electronics, please let me know or email me and I will be more than happy to answer them. Marcus Freimanis |
