Resistors?

Shawn,

Do you have a Hobby CNC Driver Board?

If so you do not need resistors for the stepper motors.

There are adjustable potentiometers on the Hobby CNC board that you set for the current rating of your stepper.

Are you using two or more stepper motors, if you are that is the reason for a 6 amp supply.

It is possible for all motors to be active at the same time, when additional motors are active the current demands are greater.

A six amp supply for a pair of three amp steppers is a little overkill however it cant hurt.

Shawn,

What type of driver are you going to use?

Gecko drives require 2/3 of one phase rating for each motor. (3 amps x 2/3) x 2motors = 3.96 amps maximum

Resistor

9.2 Ohms

18.133 Watts round up to 20 Watts

Shawn,

You can call Delagrange

260) 456-4208

He is probably home, double check my calculations.

You may need non inductive resistors!
