What printers out there have some good steppers in them? Are there any that have multiple could steppers for a 3-axis CNC. Also what other things can you pull steppers out of? I want to make a cnc machine in the garage about 24" travel by 36" travel and only a small z-axis travel. Thanks for any help. I'm very new to this. |

| Photocopiers are also a good source and you can get power supplies, solid state switches. micro switches, bearings, pulleys and timing belts out of them. One stop shopping. You just have to find a nice supplier that will let you have them for free. I have one. All I have to do is clean up their yard and do a few trips to the dump to get them. There is also some nice straight shafting in them, too. Go for the larger ones as the smaller ones don't have much stuff of any use in them. The bigger the better. Some of the motors are 5 phase but there are a lot of cheap 5 phase drives coming onto the market lately so it's not a problem and they aren't too much trouble to wire up. Rich.
