Starting from scratch again... I purchased the K179 drivers and power supply a year ago and recently found that they have proven to be quite in adequate for my Oxy/fuel/plasma table. My budget for the table is about nil right now so the best bang for the buck parts is needed. I have two Keling 289oz and one 425oz. At the current time I will only be running two axis. Which of these will be my best bet and why: 1. http://www.hobbycnc.com/products/hob...er-board-kits/ - 95.60 incl shipping + power supply 2. http://www.xylotex.com/3AxWPS.htm - 205.00 + shipping 3. http://cpwojcik.home.att.net/QSDriver/Page_1x.html - 210.00 + shipping + power supply OR 2 drivers + quickstep software + Pulse Spacer incl shipping - 250.00 + power supply Also is there a 'universal' power supply I can buy that I can use for any of these? What about this one? http://www.xylotex.com/24VDC_4-5A-PowerSupply.htm - 50.00 + shipping Or http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW 50.00 + tax |

| How big is your table, and what is your method to convert rotary movement to linear movement, screw, rack......? You might want to look at this: http://pminmo.com/PMinMOwiki/index.p...chanical_Power

I have a timing belt setup now. Not sure how well it works yet due to issues with my power supply. I have 10t on my motor to a 30t which is on a shaft with a 20t that moved the axis... I'm not sure if I am geared low enough. ![]() I lucked out with an old Compaq Desktop Pro I had with a 200w power supply. After reading info on these pages (http://www.wikihow.com/Convert-a-Com...b-Power-Supply and http://www.directron.com/2powersupplies.html) I was able to set it up to run my current K179 drivers. I will still need to order some higher quality drivers to optimize my setup... but I have no idea the pros and cons of each. A year ago when I order my current hardware, I thought I was set... |

Getting the mechanicals right first will help you in the end, otherwise you will be spend more money on power supply and drivers.
