The motors to be watching out for will be the 34-103 ones.

Dan Mauch sent me one to run dyno and linearity tests on and I'm very impressed. I have yet to run an instrumented linearity test but preliminarily I can say this is the smoothest motor I have ever tested. You cannot tell it apart from a servo.

Speaking of servos, it has power similar to a servo as well. The motor is an 8-wire single-stack NEMA-34 rated at 3A series, 4.3A unipolar and 6.1A parallel, having 452, 326 and 452 in-oz holding torque respectively.

My initial dyno test was run with the motor wired in parallel, current set to 4.3A, a 60VDC power supply and drive provided by a G201. Here's the inital dyno results:

Full Steps/Sec__in-oz___Watts (Power output)

500-------------312-----34.6
1500------------300-----99.9
2500------------270----149.9
3500------------217----168.6
4500------------180----179.8
5500------------150----183.2
6500------------127----183.3
7500------------108----179.9
8500-------------93----175.5
9500-------------81----170.9
10500------------71----165.5

This motor has a nearly flat power curve from 3,500 to 10,500 full steps per second (1050 RPM to 3150 RPM). Power peaks at 183 Watts; exceptional for a stepper.
