| Hi, I am pretty much of a newbie and I have a bunch of 5 Phase NEMA 23 size stepper motors, 5 and 6 wire configurations, and it seems info is very hard to find info on these. Is it a problem with torque? Controllers? Cost? It seems to me that with .72deg?step that these motors would be smoother and more accurate. Am I way off base? I have some of the origional controller boards that were in the equipment that these motors came from and most seem to use the si-7500a IC to operate them. I cant just use these controller boards because they did a lot of other things as well. If I could come up with a homebrew schematic I might be able to build a controller. Has Phil or anybody else ever tried to come up with a homebrew board that would help out newbies like me and take the mystery out of these (pink elephant) motors? |
