    Buying wire?

I just purchased four Rex RS34-600 steppers for my first cnc project, which will be used in conjunction with a G-Rex and G-203V's. The motors are rated at 7A, 1.82V in parallel. The schedules I've seen would seem to indicate that I should use 14-16 gauge wiring, and as most folks are aware, it should be shielded.

Problem: Where to find cable with four conductors that is shielded, without having to buy a 500' roll of the stuff ? ! ? !
Anyone have a good source out there?

    Thanks much...

    You could try
    digikey.com or
    alliedelec.com or
    newark.com or
    ebay

The problem with cable is copper is so expensive and most 4 conductor will likely be $1 per foot or more now.

    Good Luck,

Thanks guys for the help. I'll look at those sources to see what I can find. My goal is to not have to buy a 500' roll for a small cnc project... :-)

How do you plan on controlling the G-Rex? If you plan on using mach3, you might want to research that choice a little.

I used stranded 18-4 w/shield from Home Depot. It's used for sound/security wiring. I'm thinking they had 16-4 also, don't remember if its shielded or not.

Thanks...I'll check it out. The stuff The Smurfs have isn't shielded, so I don't expect much more from Agent Orange. It's worth a look anyway, they're only 5 minutes away.

maybe one of you could answere this for me, bipolor stepper motor 2.2 volt /4.6 amp. What would be the best recomended wire gage to use at approximately 20 feet in length.I,m using 20 gage right now but wonder if I should be using 18/4 multy strand instead, thanks.
