Ive Been Scanning Through Price Lists And Was Wondering Why I Would Pay More For A Nema 34 Motor Instead Of Just Buying A Nema 23 Motor With The Same Torque At Around 30.00 Dollars Cheaper Per Motor. Is It Because Of The Larger Diameter Shaft On The 34? Someone Please Clarify. Thanks |

| only reason i can think of if you wanted more metal to work with . and the 34 should help a little with heat. be little stronger. But no real reason. other then "supply and demand" ![]() *edit* Chagrin is right you should check both motors torque curves amps volts ect Last edited by sendkeys; 07-22-2004 at 05:24 PM. |

| Is the nema 34 a stepper or a servo, we'll need to move this thread either to the servo or stepper motor forum. I'll do it as soon as you guys let me know which one.... Klox

| Yeah, from the charts I've seen, typically 34's have flatter curves than 23's

| But from Dan's sale on Nema 34's, they seem to have cheaper price for torque/dollar compared to his other Nema 23's. Let say 220oz.in Nema23 is the same as 300oz.in Nema34 (around 80 bucks each). Correct me if wrong...... I think Nema34 is disadvantageous in terms of the torque/weight (of the body) compared to its cousin 23. While 23 with 220oz.in torque is more "efficient" than 220oz.in Nema 34...... What do ya think?? Andy |
