looking for information on using slo-syn M091-FD-6217 stepper

I have three SLO-SYN M091-FD-6217 stepper motors that I got to start a cnc project. The motors are rated at 150 oz/in and 1.8V/4.7A with 200 steps/rev. First I am trying to find some info about the motors, second I am trying to find out what size drive I really need to drive them and third what size power supply I will need to drive my three motors.

I have found a bunch of stepper drivers but they are only 2A or 3A. My want to eventually buy some Gecko's to drive it but I would like to find a relatively cheap single stepper driver to learn how the steppers work.

Any ideas or a place to start would be greatly appreciated. I hope this isn't a usual 'newbie' question as I have tried to read a bunch of posts but could not find what I was looking for.

Thanks,
Brian

When it comes to controlling stepper motors AMPS are not as important as you might think, the more brains the drive has the better. Here is a example, I have a router with nema34 ~300oz motors. I had some Parker cd80m stepper drives they are 140v 8amp. So I ran them for a while the motors sounded weird and got pretty hot after a while and the max rapids were ~270 IPM. So latter I got three IM483 stepper drives:

as you can see they are 48v and 3amp. Now the motors on the router stay cool all day they run much smother and the rapids are ~470 IPM. So any recent technology drive with ~3 to 4 amps will work perfect for you. Your power supply will depend on the drives.
