Kreutz-4B, 4 axes bipolar Micro-Stepper drive kit (48V/5A) Specs.

-Kreutz-4 Rev3.0N (K-4) is a Bipolar, Chopper current control, 4 axes set.
-K-4 accepts 4 or 8 wires motors (and 6 wires motors leaving one wire disconnected on each phase)
-48 Volt Maximum power supply voltage, 15 Volt minimum (Each power board automatically disables when the motor power supply voltage goes over or under the limits).
-5 amperes peak phase current per axis (2 Amps minimum). Individually adjustable by potentiometers and test points.
-The low voltage power supply (+12 Volt) is also monitored to be between 16 Volt and 8.5 volts, otherwise the boards get disabled.
-Idle current reduction (50%) after 1 second inactivity independently for each axis.
-Over current and over temperature protection.
-K-4 can be used on the following modes: Full Step, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/10, 1/5.
-Automatic torque compensation.
-Reference waveform "morphing".
-Firmware Upgrade capability built in.
-External Output connector for interfacing the rest of the LPT port pins.
-Charge-Pump (watch dog) circuit disables the outputs if the 12 KHz signal is not received from the software, protecting against Software "freezes" and LPT cable disconnections.
-4.3 volt brownout protection by resetting the micro-controllers.
-Opto-isolated Inputs and Outputs (except External Output interface signals). RF isolated Step-direction signals up to 2500 volts
-Basic set includes 5 boards (PC interface board with B.O.B. functionality, and 4 power boards).
-3.3 volt or 5 volt PC interface (jumper selectable)
-"Torque Loss" LED, shows you when the motor current can not follow the reference, indicating Torque Loss at the corresponding speed or speed range.

-Firmware Ready LED (for each axis), Service/Adjustment blinking LED.
-Axis Disabled LED (for each axis)
-Current reduction LED (for each axis)
-PC power LED
-Charge Pump OK LED
-E-Stop LED
-Low Voltage Power LED (on every Power board)
-Maximum Step rate: 100 Khz
-Minimum Step and Direction pulse width = 2 uSec @ 100 Khz.
-Step and direction signals are Active "High"-
-Active average current compensation for variable PWM duty cycle.

Works with step-direction software.
RoHS compliant.
Individual or Simultaneous control of all axes.
Power On reset.
On board 5 volt voltage regulation (for each individual board)
PC +5Volts taken from the PC's USB port using a standard USB cable (using USB-B connector on the interface board).

Heat-sinks are not included. Dimensions for a suggested heat-sink will be shown on the documentation..

Hi Kreutz,

using this control board and 4 steppers are there still enough free pins to be used with a 2-3 relay board which controls your spindel and a vacuum (cooling)?

Lucian
Pins going to the external Interface Connector are 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. Also +5 volt or +3.3Volt Jumper selectable (from the PC) are available. And PC_Ground. So there are seven effective pins for other functions.

Pin 10 is wired OR for EMG-STOP signal. There is also a signal on the external interface connector (Active Low) used to disable external signals when the board is disabled due to the charge pump operation, could be used on the external relay board to disable vacuum, cooling, and/or spindle.

Regards,

Kreutz.

Hi,

There is a separated thread for that: Kreutz CNC stuff - sales support.

The first 25 sets will have the same price I posted for the DIY kit (not offered anymore).

Thank you,

Kreutz.

Modified the Over-voltage limit for the motor power supply monitoring circuit to be 47Vdc (versus 45Vdc on the specs). Tests show that it is safe to work up to that voltage. The under-voltage limit (for the motor power supply) remains at 15 Vdc.
