I am in the final stages of My Hobby CNC Router construction. X Axis is 4 Feet and the Y axis is 2 Feet. I am planning to use it for engraving on Wood and MDF boards. I was following the guide by Patrick Hood-Daniel (http://www.buildyourcnc.com) for my Axis Construction. I have built and tested Stepper Drivers based on L297-8HV design by Phil. I bought a set of stepper motors (Model# 23H218S003) from Portescap. They are rated 23.9kgcm holding torque, 1.8º Stepping Angle, 1A, 8 wire. They are still in their company packing. Before unpacking them I would like to know if 23.9kgcm will be enough for my project? or is there a way to determine the torque requirements? Please Advice. Thank You. |
