| the way we write units for torque causes a lot of confusion. Torque can be expressed in units of oz times inches, but you often see it written oz/in, and less often oz-in, neither of which is mathematically correct, but helpful for reading comprehension. So if you wanted torque in foot-pounds, and had it in ounce-inches, you would multiply by (1foot/12inches)(1 pound/16 ounces) = (1 foot pound/ 192 ounce inch) this posting brought to you by the Dyslexic Engineers of America. |
