Thread: newbie question ?

    newbie question ?

    Hi all,

    Please bare with me on this one as i am a newbie, would anyone be able to help me with a wire diagram for a FL86 STH80 stepper motor as this has eight wires and just dont know where to start with this one. I would like to run the motor in parellel, drivers that i have are MSD 980 useing 68vdc psu's thanks.

    If that is the FL86 STH80-4208B I have the same motor and drive. To wire parallel you will need to connect the:

    RED + BLUE A+
    YELLOW +BLACK A-

    WHITE + BROWN B+
    ORANGE + GREEN B-

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the speedy answer, the model number on my steppers is FL86 STH80-4208 A-H, not sure what the A-H is, would it be ok to try this or could i damage the drive's. I cant see there would be much difference between them but you never know! also could i ask how do you find this motor and drive combo, what amps are you running and what input vdc are you running. once again thanks for the reply.
