    endthrust on chinese steppers

My cncfusion kit just showed up. I'm curious about one part of the assembly. The steppers don't bolt up without a bit of force applied. No great amount of force, I can seat them using thumbs and finger pressure. Is this OK or should a bit of shimming/filing be done to eliminate this? The lovejoys seem to be able to compress a bit.

Can't tell you the exact model of stepper. They were supplied by Xylotex.

You can't re-adjust the one of the coupling locations on either the screw or the motor shaft?

My understanding is that you do not want any significant load on the stepper bearings.

Removed both lovejoy setscrews to check that. The motor still sprung back from it's mounting plate a small amount. Probably a burr needs cleaning up or something.

Should I admit that I thought the "compression" might be a designed feature? New to this obviously

    Thanks Jeff. Nice website btw.
