Today I was looking through some old computer stuff my dad had just sitting there and my mom said get rid of it. So I look through the stuff and I find a scanner, hmmmm??? There might be a motor I could use! So I figure out how to take it apart and I see the jem just sitting there screwed to the main frame of the body. That jem is a step motor, not very large but it is closer to me having something I might use. It is a Mitsumi M42SP-4, the specs are here http://www.mitsumi.co.jp/Catalog/com.../4/text01e.pdf the file is a PDF and it is the one on the left. Is this a good motor???
