Drive has CW/CCW, need to hook to LPT

Drive has CW/CCW, need to hook to LPT...

I have tried everything, I can only get the stepper to go in one direction or the other, after a change in MACH.

Is there a specific way to hook Step/dir output from printer port, to the CW/CCW inputs of a stepper drive?

What is this type of drive called?

    Thanks for your help guys....

    Regards,
    Justin

Have you configured you pins in mach? Are you referring to a step/direction drive?

    No I am not refering to a step and direction drive. The inputs are labeled F+ , F- , R+ , R-.

I have successfully used the lpt to spin the motor on these inputs, but only in one direction, corresponding to the hookup.

I am wondering if I have to use a hex inverter, or if there is an easier option.

The drives say PACK DRIVER, made in japan. I believe they are made by MYCOM.

Thank you Dennis, I have been following that.

But to be honest, That picture dosen't tell me what to buy. I am not an EE, and am limited in diagram interpretation.

TO me it looks like two switching transistors forming a NAND gate.

There is like, 10 trillion transistors out there.....which one two buy?

    ....if those are even transistors.....

The AND gate ic is a CMOS 4081 and the OR gate is a CMOS 4071. RadioShack might have the ic's, here is a link to more info on how they work.
