Hi,
I have been using the LJIII steppers successfully in the recent past. The motors are 5.2V 1.4A per phase 200 steps per rev. My supply was a 36V 12 amp and the controller is an L297 based unipolar driver with current chopping. I got 47ipm out of the motors coupled directly to a 25.4mm screw using turbocnc in half step mode. Now I am in the process of modifying the controller to handle larger voltages. I intend to run the driver at aprox. 90V (based on 20x the voltage rating of a stepper motor)and am wondering what kind of performance would I get from these motors. My intention is to run a 3:1 reduction instead of driving the screw directly for obvious torque benefits. (torque losses with a lower TPI screw are to be thought about later..!!!) As there is not technical data available for these motors on the net I am relying upon the experiences of ppl in CNCZONE.
Has anyone out there got any higher performance from these motors..and under what conditions..?????
thanks all
emmkay.
