Different Sizes

I building from the Solsylva plans and was wondering about using different size motors for the XYZ. Would there be any benefit to using a larger motor on the X axis since it drives two lead screws? Even if I use the same on X/Y, what about the Z. It doesn't have much travel. The main reason I'm asking is because of the drive requirements. If I only need the larger motor on the X axis, I could buy a more powerful(expensive) controller for this, and use less powerful stuff on the Y/Z.

Don't know anything about Solsylva, but different motors on different axes shouldn't be a problem. Other than the losses and inertia in the geartrain I wouldn't think there would be that much difference in force required for two screws instead of one. You should probably post in the DIY routers forum as there seem to be a lot of Solsylva builders there who would likely have some good ideas on motor requirements.
