| Hi, I'm currently building a CNC Machine (A Hobby Type Machine) and I was wondering what Motor Controller and Motors i should use. I live i Australia and would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone gives and especially if the steppers and controller are available in Australia. By the way i'm planning to use EMC (runs on Ubuntu linux) to control the CNC Machine when completed. From mattn |

| What are you building it from, how big will it be, what are you planning to cut with it. http://www.oceancontrols.com.au/ have a lot of stuff in Australia There are a bunch of circuit diagrams floating around that could be handy if you are electronics literate. Set up a search on ebay that emails you searches for steppers in business and industrial, that could catch a few cheapies. I don't know much about EMC, i had a look at the page it was on and it looks ok. Most of the guys around these parts use mach3 on windowz, if you ever have a problem with mach3 you'd have a bunch of guys here to help, don't know if EMC will have that kind of support? |
